Just Keep Learning Investment for growth
Learning should be embedded in each one of us no matter our status in life or our title at work, church, or organization. Learning is your first investment towards growth and your goals. Please keep this in mind; when you are learning, you add value to every aspect of your life.
See, your brain is like a muscle, and it needs to be stretched. Learning each day is exercising your mind and thus adding value to your life. Research has shown a link between not working your brain and depression, brain fog, and memory problems. Other research shows the people who do not exercise their brains through learning are more likely to get stuck in mediocrity, which means that those who do not learn will not experience life beyond what they are currently experiencing. If you are tired of the same in your life, the same cycles, then begin to invest in your growth by embracing this lifestyle.
When you make this lifestyle change, just as any investment you make, it has to be intentional. You have to consciously take the opportunity out of the 1,440 minutes you have in a day and impact the rest of your life. Make sure you add something in your life today that you can use today, tomorrow, and in the future. A great way to kick off this journey is to purchase your copy of “The Heart of a True Servant Journal” and use it each day to record what you learned each day.
Evaluate. Challenge. Equip
Evaluate: I have two questions for you that will help you gauge where you are at with your investment in your growth.
When was the last time you learned something for the first time?
What do you need to unlearn?
The Challenge: Take advantage of the 1,440 minutes that you have in a day. I want you to choose to grow TODAY!!! So this week’s challenge will be to learn something new and apply it.
I challenge you to take 30 to 60 minutes out of the 1,440 minutes you have in a day and invest it towards your future. Think about it; that is not even that long! How many of us have spent that much time, if not more, scrolling through social media or binge-watching a new streaming series. ME….I AM US!
Will you accept this challenge?
“Your level of success will rarely succeed your level of personal development because success is something you attract by the person you become.” Hal Elrod
Equip: I cannot leave you with a challenge without some way to equip you to take on that challenge. Do something new and give yourself a jump start to this new lifestyle. Make a physical investment; remember, learning has to be intentional. So before you start scrolling on social media trying to see what is the latest and greatest in everyone else life, take a moment and impact your day. Research something about your desired ambitions and goals on YouTube, find a new podcast to listen to, or even start a new book.
I love the saying, “when you stop learning you stop growing,” because it is very true. I urge you to never stop growing, never stop learning.
