Trayvon Williams Interview
Award Winning Film Producer Trayvon Williams
I Ascend: Please share with us, who Is Trayvon Williams?
Trayvon: First and foremost, I am a father before anything. I have two sons Jordan Williams and Nyel Roberts. I am an award winning filmmaker and actor. I have been blessed enough to have appeared on over 20 Hollywood productions as an actor and also write, direct and produce some very successful content. I have worked with some of the industry’s biggest stars such as Brian White, Loretta Devine, Sharon Leal, Adrian Pasdar, David James Elliot, David Arqueete and many more. Just as a man I am the person who loves to elevate and provide opportunities. Mostly, by pushing the culture forward and taking on risks that many would run from.
I Ascend: Tell us how many years you have been in this profession?
Trayvon: I have been acting and writing, directing and producing content since 2014.
I Ascend: What has the process of “Becoming” on this journey been like for you?
Trayvon: The process of “Becoming” has been nothing short of insurmountable ups and downs. A lot of sleeping on couches, living with family members, friends and even sleeping in my car. All for the sake of manifesting my goals and dreams. It’s a little different for me, because I did not grow up wanting to be in film at all. I took advantage of an opportunity and haven’t looked back since.
I Ascend: What hardships have you faced in Ascending to where you are?
Trayvon: I have faced a lot of hardships, more of the real life stuff than career things. Most times it is very hard to differentiate between the two. For me things have gotten pretty bad, but nothing more than most others has also experienced. If you’re not born into this business then you’re going to be in for a rude awakening joining this industry. In my opinion this film industry is one of the hardest to break into. I have slept on many couches and lived with many people but it has never broken me. I have sacrificed so much time with my family and friends as well. The main hardship is still trying to relate to regular life and my personal life interactions dealing with anything outside of entertainment. I remember in LA in 2016 I financed my first series “Autographs” that ended up being a shambles behind the scenes which landed me homeless for months.
I Ascend: Who served as your Cushion and Support Team during the hard times?
Trayvon: There were several people along the way in my short career. Most that stand out I would say would be my family and my siblings. I have had a couple friends whose definitely came through for me as well.
I Ascend: What have these experiences taught you?
Trayvon: I am learning so much about every new project, every day, every minute I am doing new business deals. The biggest lesson I have learned is that sometimes you have to be selfish and you cannot be afraid to grow. Nobody is going to really understand you many times, because God gave you the specific vision.
I Ascend: Congratulations on Ascending and Standing in your Truth and Pursuing Destiny. What do you want people to remember most about you?
Trayvon: I want people to remember me as being genuine, truly pure and someone who really cared about others. I want my sons to be able to benefit and live off of their father’s legacy.
I Ascend: What word of advice would you give to readers to have them continue to Ascend in pursuit of their dream no matter where they are currently?
Trayvon: I would tell the readers that there isn’t one way to do anything. Find your own way and don’t be afraid to build with those around you first. You don’t always have to chase the popular circle, you can create the exact same thing. As long as you stay in the game, you’ll never truly lose. You’ll only learn and become better. No matter if you’re self – taught like me or not.
I Ascend: Please share some of the projects you’re currently working on?
Trayvon: I am working on several projects: We have two comedy sitcoms “Happy Wife, Happy Life” and “Day Job.” My feature film “Armstrong 2.” I am producing a scripted series “Resentment” with a talented female creator Ashley Brantley. In addition to a scripted series “District 52” and a couple more in the horizon. I also have an action, crime drama series “Bloody Nickel” streaming on TUBI right now. I wrote, directed and produced it under my production company banner “The Pioneers Collective Entertainment.”
I Ascend: How can our readers continue to follow and stay abreast of all that you’re doing?
